About Seth

I have two main passions in my life, one being that I love helping other people, and the other being that I love learning. Working in the insurance industry gives me the ability to satisfy both of those passions. Due to the fact that insurance is such a confusing subject for the average person in America, I pride myself in being able to guide and assist people through the process. It is especially important that I listen to and understand your needs, as you are not "just a number" when you work with me. To make the broker-consumer relationship even better, I also take solace in the fact that after meeting with me, my clients will better understand how health & life insurance works on their own. They will be able to pinpoint certain things that need to be tailored more to their specific situation, and I am always happy to assist in accomplishing that. In summary, I've always believed that you should treat other people exactly how you would like them to treat you, and I couldn't be happier to provide the services that I provide.

Cheap Health Insurance In Las Vegas, Nevada

Where can I find cheap health insurance in Las Vegas, Nevada? Does cheap health insurance even exist in Nevada?

I hear it all the time.

Health insurance is a very confusing thing to understand today. This is because of the many local, state, and federal laws that are on the books governing health insurance. I am sure that everyone is familiar with the term “Obamacare”, but Obamacare is just a slang term for the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act made some profound changes to health insurance, but I won’t bore you with them here. You came here to find cheap health insurance in Las Vegas, or anywhere in Nevada. Fortunately, that is something that I can help with. The prices of health insurance today depend largely on your family size, age, and income. I have many hundreds of clients, and a good portion of them pay less than $50 per month for health insurance for themselves and their families.

Want to know what is even better than cheap health insurance? Free help finding cheap health insurance. As a Las Vegas local, I will always offer you the chance to meet me in person so that we can go over your options together. I am more than happy to assist in the process of signing up. Better yet, I am an independent broker, which means I charge you absolutely nothing for my help, and I am loyal to no particular health insurance company. I simply show you the best options to find cheap health insurance in Las Vegas, Nevada, and then you choose what plan, if any, you want. I have the same plan for myself that I offer to my clients. In a typical year, I review the plans before the open enrollment period begins. This allows me to quickly identify which plan or plans are best, and I enroll myself in these same plans. I am a strong believer that if you sell something, you should use it, and I do. If you ever have a problem with your insurance, you can call on me year-round to help you out. I have special access to broker-only lines that allows me to help you faster than you could do on your own. Again, I never charge you for my services.

Frequently Asked Questions *FAQ*

Q: What is a Health Insurance Broker?

A: A Health Insurance Broker is someone who acts on behalf of health insurance companies to acquire clients for them. Brokers are not employed by these companies, as they act as independent contractors and are technically self-employed. Brokers often represent multiple companies, and are able to assist or represent you (with your permission) and act as a liaison between you and government during optional or mandatory interactions. Brokers help you choose a health insurance plan according to your needs and your budget, and assist you throughout the entire process of enrollment. Healthcare.gov can be very confusing, and having a Broker guide you can be an immense help.

Q: Why should I use a Broker? Can’t I do it by myself?

A: It is possible to do it by yourself, but why would you want to? Perhaps the most important reason you should use a Broker is that we don’t charge you for our services. Not only that, but the prices of the health insurance plans are the same whether you do it alone, or have a broker do it for you. Why not get the free expert help? Since we represent multiple companies (I represent every company that offers on exchange plans in Nevada,) we can show you all of the plans. An agent can only show you plans of the company that he works for. Brokers are not loyal to any company. We are only loyal to our clients, as it is always your best interest we have in mind and not the interest of insurance companies.

Q: How does the sign up process work?

A: I will meet with you in person (or on phone if you wish) and explain everything. The first step is creating an account on Healthcare.gov. The next step is to do an application. When we finish the application, we will know how much of a discount the government is going to give you. From there we look at the plans with the discount applied, and do any calculations we need to about medical conditions/deductibles/drugs etc. I will answer all of your questions about the plans and make a recommendation.  When I enroll you in the plan, all you have to do is wait for the insurance company to contact you.

Q: Isn’t insurance too expensive? I’ve seen the prices and I can’t afford anything near that.

A: It is likely that you did not account for the subsidy. The price of insurance has gone up since President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law, but that doesn’t mean your insurance will be too expensive. Due to the new law, the price of insurance actually depends on your income. If you are making between $16,500 – $50,000 per year, you can probably expect to get some amount of discount on your plan. Some of my clients pay as little as $50 a month. I guarantee you the lowest possible price.

Q: Can’t I find it cheaper somewhere else?

A: No. The price of on-exchange insurance plans is exactly the same everywhere you look. The prices that I show you are the same prices that every other person and every other website will show you.

Q: I was hurt at work. Will I receive payments from my insurance?

A: No. You should be covered under your employer’s Worker’s Compensation programs and insurance. Please give me a call if you have further questions about this.

Q: I have a preexisting medical condition. Can I still get insurance?

A: Yes. The new law requires insurance companies to provide coverage for preexisting conditions. To deny you coverage for that would be illegal.

Q: Does my plan include dental/vision insurance? Are there maternity benefits?

A: Today, nearly all plans do not include dental and vision coverage. Some plans do have clauses covering these services for infants. I am able to help you sign up for dental and vision separately if you desire that coverage. Some plans cover deliveries, but most do not have maternity benefits. You will likely be subject to a copayment or deductible for child delivery.

Q: I am expecting a child. How does adding the baby to my plan work?

A: Congratulations! Your child is covered upon birth for 30 days. After this time, he/she needs to be added to your plan. The process of adding a child is fairly simple, be sure to have the birth certificate and social security number readily available when you call me.

Q: When can I buy insurance?

A: You can only buy insurance during the Open Enrollment Period, which this year will begin November 1st and run though January 31st. Outside of those dates, you can only buy insurance if a specific life event applies to you, triggering a Special Enrollment Period. Get in touch with me to discuss your specific circumstances and we can determine if I can still help you sign up. I have a 95% success rate at getting Special Enrollment Periods for my clients.

Q: Where are you located?

A: I live in Henderson and service the entire Las Vegas valley. I work from home and conduct business either over the phone, or in person at your home or a public place. I prefer to meet in person so we can both put a face to the name, and I can give you my business card.

Q: I don’t live in Nevada. Can you still help me?

A: I hope so! I hold Health & Life Insurances licenses in Nevada, California, Texas, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Florida. If your permanent residence is in one of those states, I can assist you.

Q: I have insurance through work. Can I get it cheaper with you?

A: Maybe. If your job offers you insurance and it costs you less than 9.5% of your income yearly, you legally must accept the insurance. If it costs you more than 9.5% of your income, you have the option of dropping out of their plan and signing up independently. Give me a call and we can do the math and find out which would be more cost and benefit effective for you and your family.

Q: I just lost my insurance and am outside of the Open Enrollment Period. Can you help me?

A: Yes. You have 60 days from the date of losing your coverage to apply through Healthcare.gov with a Special Enrollment. It is important that we do this as soon as possible. I typically don’t recommend taking the COBRA because it usually costs you 300% more than normal for the coverage, and getting it through me would be substantially less expensive.

Q: I have a question that is not listed on the FAQ. Now what?

A: The FAQ provides answers to general questions. Please contact me directly and I would be more than happy to answer any and all additional questions you have.
